Each year, WSAPT recognizes one or two outstanding members whose dedication and service significantly contribute to our profession, organization, and communities. The Member of the Year Award honors individuals who go above and beyond in their roles and exemplify the values of WSAPT.
To be considered for the award:
The nominee must be a WSAPT member in good standing at the time of nomination.
Any WSAPT member in good standing may nominate another member.
Nominations must be submitted no less than 60 days prior to the Fall Annual Business Meeting and Education Conference.
Nominations are reviewed and voted on by the WSAPT Executive Board. In the case of a tie, the President will make the final decision or the Board may choose to honor two recipients.
Nominees should demonstrate exceptional contributions, including but not limited to:
Consistently exceeding expectations in their role
Recognition from customers, peers, or leadership
Taking on special projects or assignments beyond normal responsibilities
Holding at least one ICC Certification (e.g., Permit Tech, Code Specialist)
Years of service to WSAPT and/or their jurisdiction
Active involvement in additional related organizations such as:
PermitTechNation (PTN)
Women in Code Enforcement and Development (WICED)
Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO)
ICC Region II
Volunteering to teach WSAPT classes
Note: If no qualified candidate is identified, the Board reserves the right to withhold the award for that year.

A recommendation letter outlining the nominee’s accomplishments
